At the forest preserve, we hiked outside through the woods, enjoying the weather and the beautiful scenery. As you can imagine, the boys did not walk quietly in awe of the surrounding beauty. No, they ran screaming, throwing leaves in the air. Here is an idea of what went on...
The River Trails Nature Center was really great. Not only does it have some wonderful trails, but it also has a fantastic nature center with animals and a kids play area. We saw a squirrel, snakes, turtles, fish, and a bird inside, and outside they had some owls, a fox, and an eagle. Pretty amazing. The kids play area was definitely a pleasant surprise, full of puzzles and games for the kids. The best thing about this place? It is free! Woo hoo! It is definitely somewhere we can hit up during the winter months.
